Ortho Exposure and Bond

When a tooth is buried or stuck beneath the gums it may need treatment to assist an orthodontist in moving it into proper position. The expose and bond procedure involves a small incision through the gums and the placement of a bracket on the impacted tooth. Next, a small chain is connected from the bracketed tooth to an archwire on the orthodontic appliances or “braces”. The incision is usually then closed exposing leaving only the chain exposed.
