A dental implant is the closest option to a natural tooth replacement. It consists of a “root” that is made of titanium which is the same material utilized in artificial joint replacements such as knees. It is a bio compatible material accepted by the body and integrates with the bone to act as an anchor for a crown. The crown is the visible portion of the tooth that is used for function. Dr Tunder performs the actual implant surgery, tooth extractions, and any other additional procedures necessary for your dental implant procedure such as bone grafting or sinus lifts. The restorative dentist fits and makes the permanent tooth or teeth.
